Ahhhh, Crandon Park Beach. Not quite El Farito. Not quite South Beach. But a beautiful place all its own. This family was coming in from out of town (very out of town, like several thousands of miles away) for a family session. They do these amazing trips together every year, and they reached out to me asking for suggestions. I suggested Crandon Park because it's on my list for maternity shoots; but it's so expansive with a bunch of beautiful spots that it works for any type of family photography in Biscayne.
I always cover all of the details with you even before you book. I'll suggest a spot based on your vision and even suggest tips and what to wear. From Miami on the east coast all the way west out to Kendall, I've got a ton of favorite spots. If you want to go a little further out, Tropical Park and Kendall Indian Hammocks Park are wonderful spots surrounded by oak trees and trails that make for great late afternoon pictures.
Crandon Park Beach is great in the early morning and late afternoon. Avoid midday if possible, when the sun is too harsh for photos. Be prepared with mosquito repellent, though. Certain times of the year bring mosquitos and chiggers (and you don't want to fall victim to chiggers!).
