There are sessions that I just know are going to blow my clients' minds. This was one of them.

 

I started this Miami Beach Maternity Photoshoot right behind the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel where the sea oats catch the late-day golden hour light like nowhere else in Miami. For these Miami Maternity photoshoots, I always start with mom's photos before bringing in dad or any other family members. And I absolutely had to catch a solo shot of her in that beautiful light.

Dad comes next for a few couples shots with an unexpected, but very welcome guest, their dog, Hobie.

At some point we needed get a few photos of just mom and dad, even though everyone wanted Hobie to stick around. We got some final photos on the beach and boardwalk before heading back to the hotel for a few final shots.

With golden hour over, it was time to head back to the Surfcomber's pool area. The hanging greenery, the warm lanterns, and that long tunnel of tropical foliage is just *chef's kiss* for maternity photos in Miami like these.

The Kimpton Surfcomber is one of those places that provides a rare Miami Beach photography opportunity for a rich gallery full of variety. This session was done in one hour and we managed to take photos by the dunes, a boardwalk, and several spots at their hotel, all while rotating between mom, dad, and dog! You can't say that about a lot of places in Miami.


To this beautiful family of (almost) four — congratulations. It was incredible working with you.
